NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli settlers established on Monday a new settlement outpost on the lands of the town of Huwara, south of Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank, while others detained and attacked farmers in the town of Nahalin, west of Bethlehem.
Local sources reported that settlers set up tents and plastic houses on the top of Mount Ras Zeid, in the Za’tara Basin, noting that these lands were levelled by settlers for more than a month.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said that settlers had tried last month to establish eight new settlement outposts, mostly agricultural and pastoral in nature.
The settlers were attempting to establish two settlement outposts on the lands of Tubas, and one outpost in each of Jericho, Al-Khalil, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Tulkarem and Nablus.
Meanwhile, settlers detained and assaulted a number of farmers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, in the town of Nahalin and the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, while they were pruning grapevines, and prevented them from continuing their work, before the occupation forces detained them, according to local sources.
