RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Palestinian female prisoners in Damon jail have complained of their exposure to ongoing maltreatment, punishment and harsh incarceration conditions.
According to the lawyer of the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, Damon jailers provide the female prisoners with incorrect times for breaking their fast during the holy month of Ramadan and serve them spoiled and insufficient food.
Prisoners told the Commission’s lawyer, who visited them recently, that the situation in the jail is extremely unbearable especially during the holy month, affirming that they do not receive pre-dawn meals in order for them to start their fast during the daytime.
According to the prisoners, Damon jailers carry out dawn raids on the cells almost every day and take them out to the prison yard in the early morning hours when it is very cold.
The Damon jailers also do not provide the female prisoners with any medication and medically neglect them.
