IOF kidnaps dozens of Palestinians in W. Bank raids

WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped last night and on Tuesday morning scores of Palestinian citizens during a large-scale arrest campaign in the West Bank.

According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped MP Mohamed al-Natsheh, Sheikh Abdul-Khalek an-Natsheh, and Mazen an-Natsheh during raids on homes in al-Khalil City. All of them are noted Hamas figures in al-Khalil.

The IOF also kidnaped five other citizens after ransacking their homes in al-Khalil City and two brothers during a raid in Sa’ir town.

Another citizen was kidnaped by the IOF from his home in Bani Naim town, east of al-Khalil.

The IOF also stormed Halhul town in northern al-Khalil, intercepted cars and assaulted passengers.

In Qalqilya, Israeli forces kidnaped a young man after assaulting him in Azzun town, while Red Crescent paramedics provided first aid for a young man suffering from a leg fracture after soldiers assaulted him during a raid on his home in the same town.

The IOF also kidnaped at least 22 citizens following violent raids on homes in Azzun town.

Local sources said that the IOF blocked the entrances of Azzun town, broke into and ransacked dozens of homes, and stole 5,000 shekels from a family.

They added that Israeli soldiers forced a family to leave its home in al-Mintar neighborhood of the town and turned it into an interrogation center, where many citizens were detained and questioned before they were herded to the military watchtower at the town’s northern entrance.

In Nablus, Israeli forces stormed the eastern area of the city and Askar refugee camp, raided homes and kidnaped three citizens.

The IOF also raided the house of Amer Sonobar in the Zawata junction in the west of Nablus City and kidnaped him. He was released on Monday evening after detaining him at dawn.

Another young citizen was taken prisoner following raids on homes in Balata refugee camp in eastern Nablus.

In Ramallah, the IOF kidnaped three citizens from their homes in Kafr Ein village and two others from al-Jalazon refugee camp and Beitunia town.

In Bethlehem, three citizens were reportedly kidnaped from their homes during an IOF raid in Husan town.

The IOF also stormed Beit Fajjar town in southern Bethlehem and fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters at local residents. Three local young men suffered bullet injuries in their legs and many others suffered from their exposure to tear gas.

The IOF also raided homes and assaulted citizens in other areas of the West Bank, with no reported arrests.
