GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has categorically denied the Israeli occupation government’s claim that the Palestinian resistance was preparing for an attack on its forces, accusing it of attempting to justify the massacres it committed at dawn Tuesday in the Gaza Strip.
“The occupation is trying to mislead the world’s public opinion and create false pretexts to justify its premeditated decision to reignite the war and commit genocide against the defenseless civilians in Gaza,” Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hamas also accused the Israeli government of overturning the ceasefire agreement and shirking its obligations.
Hamas also condemned the international community’s disgraceful silence on Israel’s persistence in committing massacres against the Gaza people.
“We were committed to the ceasefire agreement until the last moment and were keen to see it continue, but Netanyahu, who are seeking a way out of his internal crises, preferred to reignite the war at the expense of the Palestinian people’s blood,” Hamas affirmed.
The Movement said that the US administration’s acknowledgment that it had been informed in advance of the Israeli intent to resume the war confirmed its direct complicity in the genocide against the Palestinian people.
The Movement highlighted that the Palestinian people would never back down from their legitimate struggle against the occupation until they extracted their rights fully and liberated their land.
In a separate statement, senior Hamas official Ezzat al-Resheq said that the Israeli government’s resumption of its genocide in Gaza reflects its intent to sacrifice the remaining Israeli captives, affirming that their return would be impossible without fully ending the war.
Resheq said that Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to resume the war serves as a lifeboat to save him from his internal crises, describing the decision as a “death sentence against the Israeli captives.”
The Hamas official stressed the need for the mediators to reveal the truth about Netanyahu’s decision to overturn the ceasefire agreement and hold him responsible for this escalation in Gaza.
