The PRCS calls for an independent investigation into Israeli crimes in Gaza

RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Younis Al-Khatib, stated on Thursday that protection must be provided for humanitarian workers in the Gaza Strip. He urged the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to “provide information about one of our missing team members in Tel Sultan in Rafah (southern Gaza Strip).”

Al-Khatib clarified that the PRCS lost 30 members of its teams prior to the incident in the Sultan neighborhood in Rafah, emphasizing that “Israel has imposed a complete siege on the Gaza Strip for more than a month.” He stressed that “Israel’s siege of the Strip violates humanitarian law, and we call on the Security Council for an independent investigation into the IOF crimes in Gaza.”

Since March 18, the Israeli occupation army has resumed its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, reneging on an agreement for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange with the Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, which lasted 58 days from January 19, 2025, mediated by Qatar and Egypt with U.S. support.

According to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, since the 18th of last month, 1,163 Palestinians have been martyred, and 2,542 others have been injured, the majority of whom are women and children. With U.S. support, the IOF has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in more than 165,000 martyrs and injured, most of whom are children and women, and over 14,000 missing.
