NEW YORK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the complete blockade on Gaza, in place since March 2, has halted the entry of all food and medical supplies into the besieged territory.
According to WHO, last week alone, Israeli forces obstructed or prevented 75% of UN missions inside Gaza.
The organization stressed that the blockade is leaving families hungry and suffering from malnutrition, without access to clean water or adequate healthcare.
On March 2, Israel closed all crossings into Gaza, blocking humanitarian, medical, and relief aid from entering. This move has led to an unprecedented deterioration in humanitarian conditions, as confirmed by both governmental and human rights reports.
Several international and local organizations had previously warned of the severe consequences of tightening the Israeli blockade, predicting an escalation into widespread famine among the Palestinian population.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue their renewed genocidal war on Gaza for the 25th consecutive day, following the collapse of a ceasefire on March 18, which had lasted for 57 days.
Since the resumption of hostilities, Israeli forces have committed further massacres and war crimes against civilians, displaced families, and entire communities. According to updated figures, 1,522 civilians have been killed and 3,834 others injured since March 18.
