IOF launches raid, arrest campaign in the West Bank

NABLUS  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched last night and at dawn Tuesday a campaign of raids and arrests across the West Bank and laid out a siege and closure on Jericho city.

In Nablus, the IOF stormed the western area of the city, surrounded a building near Al-Nour Mosque, assaulted an 86-year-old man, and shot and injured the young man Yazan Odeh from Al-Makhfiya neighborhood before arresting him, according to local sources.

The sources explained that Israeli special forces besieged the building in which the young man Odeh was present, and shot and injured him, before arresting him, adding that the IOF beat an 86-year-old man, because of which he was transferred to Rafidia Hospital for treatment.

In Jericho, the IOF closed the checkpoints leading to the city in both directions for several hours, and fired tear gas at anyone approaching, before allowing vehicles to pass and lifting the siege.

In Tulkarem, local sources reported that the IOF arrested the young man Abdullah Abbas al-Sayed, after storming his house in the southern neighborhood of the city.

In occupied Jerusalem, the occupation police forces raided Anata town, northeast of the city, deployed in several neighborhoods and closed some of its roads.

In Ramallah, the IOF arrested four young men, including two brothers, after breaking into Al-Mazra’a Al-Sharqiya town, east of Ramallah, and Kober town, northwest of the city, according to local sources.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation vehicles stormed Al-Manara roundabout in Ramallah city center and Deir Nizam town, northwest of the city, with no arrests reported.

In Bethlehem, the IOF stormed the Al-Malha area, east of the city, and raided the house of Ali Mustafa Al-Wahsh, searched it and sabotaged its contents.

Since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, on October 7, 2023, the occupation forces have escalated their attacks and violations in the West Bank, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 948 Palestinians, wounding nearly 7,000, and arresting 16,400 others.
