GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said that the “barbaric Zionist aggression” is ongoing against Gaza amid US support and an international suspicious silence.
Hamas called on all nations, especially Arab and Islamic ones, to participate in a global week of demonstrations under the slogan “Gaza cries out” to attract more attention to the plight of besieged Palestinians.
“We call for the mobilization of all energies and means during the coming week to support Gaza’s steadfastness, condemn the aggression, and demand an end to the war of genocide by escalating all forms of solidarity action, including marches, sit-ins, and angry protests in capitals, cities, and squares around the world,” the Movement said in a statement on Tuesday.
Hamas also called for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (18-20 April) to be designated as days of global anger against the occupation, US support, and international complicity.
The Movement further welcomed global popular and trade union calls, urging people to respond by making Tuesday, 22 April, a worldwide day of student and union strikes, across universities and educational and trade union institutions around the globe, in solidarity with Gaza and in support of its besieged people.
On the other hand, Hamas emphasized that the Israeli government continues to prevent the entry of essential materials into the Gaza Strip, including food, medicine, and fuel, while directly targeting water wells and desalination plants.
The Movement clarified that this catastrophic humanitarian reality imposed on more than 2.25 million Palestinians in the Strip is accompanied by systematic massacres, which form a central pillar of a planned act of genocide carried out by Israeli leaders amidst suspicious international silence.
Hamas called on the United Nations and the international community to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities and to take urgent action to end the policy of collective starvation and ensure the entry of food and medical aid to Gaza’s residents.
The Movement issued a renewed appeal to Arab and Islamic countries, both governments and peoples, as well as political parties, to take a historic stance to end the blockade imposed on Gaza.
