NABLUS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian young man was martyred on Sunday evening after he traded fire with Israeli soldiers at the entrance of the evacuated illegal settlement of Homesh in the north of the occupied West Bank.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, 24-year-old Suleiman Fawwaz Manasra was shot dead by soldiers near Jenin province.
The Hebrew media said that a Palestinian arrived by car at the Homesh checkpoint, located between the cities of Nablus and Jenin, and started firing at the soldiers before being neutralized, adding that his body was taken by Israeli security forces.
An Israeli media source claimed that one Israeli was injured in the shooting attack in the Homesh area, while other sources said that no Israelis were wounded.
Following the incident, the Israeli occupation army blocked the road between Nablus and Jenin and intensified the presence of its forces in nearby areas.
The Israeli army reportedly closed the main entrance of Bizzariya near the Homesh checkpoint with mounds of dirt and rocks.
