GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Dr Marwan Al-Hams, Director of Field Hospitals in Gaza, stated on Sunday that the Israeli occupation is targeting all elements of the medical sector in the Gaza Strip, including hospital facilities and staff—both local and foreign.
In press remarks, Al-Hams emphasized that the Israeli occupation is deliberately preventing the entry of essential medical supplies, aiming to systematically dismantle the healthcare system.
He stressed that these measures have placed an overwhelming burden on Gaza’s already devastated medical infrastructure.
The Israeli army resumed its military campaign on 18 March 2025 with a new wave of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing of at least 1,827 Palestinians and the injury of 4,828 others. This escalation followed the collapse of a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, which had held for nearly two months.
With continued American support, Israel has carried out a sustained military assault on Gaza since 7 October 2023. The ongoing offensive has resulted in over 168,000 Palestinians killed and injured—most of them women and children—alongside more than 14,000 people still missing, according to local health authorities.
