WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched early Monday morning large-scale home demolitions including houses and residential buildings in Ramallah and Al-Khalil.
The IOF bulldozers demolished a seven-story residential building in Beit Ummar town, north of Al-Khalil.
Local sources reported that the building belongs to the Alqam family, who were forced by the IOF to evacuate their apartments when the IOF stormed the Wadi Al-Wahadin area in Beit Ummar.
In Ramallah, the IOF accompanied by bulldozers stormed Ni’lin town, west of the city, and demolished two houses belonging to two brothers in the Wadi area.
Residents of the town reported that the two houses belong to the brothers Nael and Raed Srour.
According to a report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the IOF demolished more than 105 structures across the West Bank between 25 March and 7 April, under the pretext of unlicensed construction. Almost half of which were located in the Jordan Valley.
This resulted in the displacement of 122 Palestinians, including 64 children, and affected more than 200 people through the demolition of their livelihood or water and sanitation facilities, including 103 in Area C of the West Bank and two in East Jerusalem.
In the same period, OCHA documented 44 settler attacks on Palestinians resulting in injuries or property damage in 35 Palestinian communities in the West Bank – almost half of these attacks occurred in Bedouin or herding communities.
Since the beginning of 2023, the Masafer Yatta area in the southern Al-Khalil has witnessed a sharp and sustained escalation in settlers’ violence, resulting in injuries and widespread property damage.
