OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayers at the Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards, despite the heavy restrictions and intensified measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on worshipers.
From the early morning hours, Palestinians from Jerusalem, its surrounding areas, and cities across the West Bank flocked to Aqsa Mosque to observe Friday prayers in its courtyards.
During the sermon, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri called for immediate and urgent action to stop the aggression on the occupied city and the Aqsa Mosque.
Sabri stressed that what is taking place at Aqsa is not merely a violation, but an open declaration of war on the mosque, stating that the occupation and its settlers have declared war on everything Palestinian and Islamic in Jerusalem.
Earlier, the Hamas Movement had called upon the Arab and Islamic nations to stand in defense of Aqsa and support it by all possible means, especially during this critical stage in which the occupation is escalating its dangerous plans to Judaize the site.
Hamas also renewed its call for the people of Jerusalem, the West Bank, and within the Green Line to mobilize, remain steadfast, and be present in large numbers at Aqsa Mosque, to thwart the settlers’ schemes.
