GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Dr. Munir al-Bursh, director of Gaza’s health ministry, has accused the Israeli occupation regime of exterminating the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip by depriving them of water and food and denying one million children access to life-saving aid.
“More than 40,000 children in Gaza have become orphans and 100 children have died while waiting for the crossings to open,” Dr. al-Bursh said in press remarks on Tuesday.
The health official pointed out that the number of citizens who died due to the indirect consequences of the war exceeded those who were killed directly by Israeli attacks. “We are facing a very severe crisis, with children and pregnant women being the most affected.”
According to him, only 20 out of 38 hospitals in Gaza are operating partially, while over 360 healthcare workers have been kidnaped by the Israeli army from Gaza.
He appealed to the international community and its institutions to shoulder their responsibilities towards Gaza and its health sector.
