SANA’A (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Yemen’s armed forces said Sunday that it would continue launching missile attacks at Israeli airports, especially at Ben Gurion Airport, as part of its “comprehensive air blockade” against the Israeli occupation state.
“We announce a comprehensive air blockade on the Israeli enemy in response to its decision to expand its aggression against Gaza,” military spokesman Yehya Sariee said in a statement aired by Yemen’s al-Masirah satellite channel.
“We will work to impose the blockade by repeatedly targeting airports, most notably Ben Gurion Airport,” he said, urging international airlines to cancel all their flights to Israeli airports.
On Sunday, Yemen’s armed forces claimed responsibility for a missile attack that struck a driveway leading to the main terminal of Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel in the morning, causing damage and resulting in four minor injuries.
For its part, the Hamas Movement highly valued the Yemeni armed forces’ decision to declare a full aerial blockade on the Jewish state in response to its army’s plan to expand its aggression against Gaza.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas commended the Yemeni measure as a “heroic action,” saying it reflected Yemen’s “deep involvement in defending the Palestinian people and supporting their struggle.”
