AL-KHALIL (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished the Khallat Al-Dabaa hamlet in Masafar Yatta, south of Al-Khalil, in one of the largest demolition and Judaization operations in the area.
The hamlet includes 25 structures, including homes, water wells, caves, agricultural rooms, animal pens, and solar panels.
Media activist Osama Makhamra told WAFA news agency that Israeli occupation forces evacuated the residents of Khallat Al-Dabaa by force and began demolishing all the homes and structures, most of which belong to the Dababseh family, while preventing citizens from taking their belongings.
Khallat Al-Dabaa is one of the hamlets threatened with displacement by the IOA, as in 2022 an Israeli court ruling ordered its demolition and the displacement of its residents, under the pretext that it is located in a live-fire zone, while the real aim was to seize the citizens’ lands in favor of Israeli settlement expansion.
Khallat al-Dabaa is located southeast of Al-Khalil city, with an area of approximately 3,000 dunums, of which 250 dunums are designated for residential purposes. The population of Khallat al-Dabaa is about 120 people, distributed among 14 families, all belonging to the Dababseh tribe. Residents mainly rely on agriculture and livestock farming as sources of income, and some also work in the cities of Al-Khalil and Yatta, in addition to practicing handicrafts such as embroidery and making woven goods.
Khallat al-Dabaa has faced repeated IOA threats, including the demolition of homes and structures. In February 2025, occupation forces demolished 7 homes, 3 caves, and a water well in the village, displacing many families. Additionally, Israeli settler assaults included the destruction of crops and grazing livestock on their lands, causing significant damage to agricultural produce.
In the latest report published by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission on Monday, it was noted that the Israeli occupation army and its settlers carried out a total of 1,693 assaults during April, continuing the pattern of state terrorism against the Palestinian people and their lands and properties. The majority of these assaults were concentrated in the governorates of A-Khalil with 292 attacks, Ramallah with 269, and Nablus with 254.
