GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Israeli warplanes launched heavy air raids on vast areas across Yemen on Monday evening.
According to Israel’s Channel 12, more than 30 Israeli Air Force aircraft carried out extensive attacks on Yemen.
Yemeni media reported that joint American-Israeli strikes targeted Bajil District in Hudaydah, western Yemen, alongside six air raids on Hudaydah’s port.
The news site Axios quoted an Israeli official as saying that the strikes were in retaliation for a missile launched by Ansar Allah (the Houthis), which exploded at Ben Gurion Airport on Sunday, causing a major blast, multiple injuries, and the cancellation of numerous foreign airline flights.
At the same time, Channel 13 cited a military source as saying that the current raids in Yemen were a repeat of previous strikes and were unlikely to halt the Houthis’ missile launches.
For its part, the Hamas Movement strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Yemen, describing it as a war crime and an act of systematic state terrorism.
In a statement issued on Monday, Hamas said that this brutal assault was part of the Israeli government’s failed attempts, led by war criminal Netanyahu, to dissuade Yemen and Ansar Allah from their courageous support for Gaza amidst the ongoing genocide against innocent civilians.
The statement added: “The Zionist enemy, after receiving a significant missile blow, is desperately trying to salvage its shattered image through these attacks, after the failure of all its defense systems to intercept the Yemeni missile.”
Hamas stressed that Yemen and its leadership have consistently demonstrated resilience in the face of aggression, standing firmly alongside the Palestinian people during the brutal, ongoing war of extermination for the past eighteen months.
The Movement called upon all Arab and Islamic nations to mobilize efforts and unite ranks to confront the aggression and counter the Israeli plans and crimes against the countries and peoples of the region.
