Gathering of Religious Zakirs from Across Sindh in Support of Palestine

Karachi  (Palestine Foundation Information Center)  – The Palestine Foundation Pakistan (PLF) organized a solidarity convention for Palestine, bringing together renowned religious Zakirs (scholars) of the Imamia community from across Sindh. The event, held at a local hotel in Karachi as part of the Nakba Day campaign, was chaired by Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, Secretary General of the Palestine Foundation Pakistan.

Prominent scholars, including Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Allama Akhlaq Ahmed Akhlaq, Allama Nisar Qalandari, Allama Furqan Abidi, Allama Sajjad Shabbir, Allama Ali Irfan, and Ali Kamran Abidi, addressed the conference.

The speakers strongly condemned India’s aggressive posturing toward Pakistan, calling on the international community to restrain the Modi government. They accused India of serving the interests of the U.S. and Israel by destabilizing the region.

“The entire Pakistani nation stands united like an iron wall in defense of our homeland,” they declared, praising the armed forces for their strong response to Indian aggression.

The speakers unequivocally declared Palestine as the rightful homeland of the Palestinian people, condemning Israel as an illegitimate state. They also denounced the ongoing aggression by the U.S. and Israel in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria, calling it a violation of international law and human rights.

The scholars asserted that those advocating for the recognition of Israel are acting against the ideology of Pakistan and the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. They urged the government to take strict action against Pakistani citizens traveling to Israel.

Marking Nakba Day, the speakers highlighted the 77-year-long occupation of Palestine, stating that every day is a catastrophe for the Palestinian people. They lamented the global silence over the genocide in Gaza and reaffirmed Quaid-e-Azam’s stance that Pakistan would never compromise on the rights of Palestinians.

The conference passed a resolution urging Muslim leaders to sever all ties with Israel and continue the boycott of American and Israeli products. They also called for an immediate end to the blockade on Gaza. A massive protest demonstration will be held at the Karachi Press Club on May 15 to observe Nakba Day, with a call for widespread public participation.

The religious Zakirs pledged to raise awareness about the Palestinian struggle in religious gatherings (Majalis) during the holy month of Muharram and mobilize support for the cause.
