GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Seven Palestinians were killed and five others injured when an Israeli drone launched a reconnaissance missile at the tent of the Kasab family in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.
The casualties were transported to the Red Cross Hospital in western Rafah.
This attack brings the total number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since early Monday to 85, amid ongoing and intense Israeli airstrikes across the Strip.
Earlier in the day, Khan Yunis witnessed heavy aerial bombardment coinciding with a targeted assassination carried out by an Israeli undercover unit (“Mista’arvim”), which killed Ahmed Sarhan, a commander in the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades. He was reportedly killed in an armed clash, and his wife and children were abducted by the Israeli force.
The ongoing war coincides with a worsening famine in Gaza, exacerbated by continued closure of border crossings and the denial of humanitarian aid, alongside attacks on hospitals that have rendered many medical facilities inoperative.
Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip has cut off food, medical supplies, clean water, and aid, pushing the besieged population—already reeling from a prolonged campaign of genocide—to the brink of mass starvation, which has already claimed dozens of civilian lives.
According to official data released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Sunday, the death toll from Israel’s ongoing military assault on Gaza has risen to 53,339, with 121,034 others wounded since 7 October 2023.
