IOF arrests several Palestinians in West Bank raids

WEST BANK   (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested several Palestinians overnight and on Tuesday morning across the West Bank, following raids on homes that involved violent searches.

In Tulkarem, the IOF arrested two young men, Mohammad Bilal Abu Al-Aoun and Raed Ammar Barakat, after raiding their homes in the town of Anabta. They also arrested ex-prisoner Saad Othman Bsais from the Ikhtaba neighborhood in the city.

The IOF troops also stormed the town of Far’un, south of Tulkarem, where they patrolled residential neighborhoods, fired live ammunition, stopped and searched vehicles, and confiscated several car keys. During the incursion, they arrested Alaa Al-Din Abu Qamar, a resident of Al-Fara’a refugee camp, while he was visiting his grandfather’s home in the town.

Local sources reported that Israeli soldiers also vandalized an illuminated portrait of detainee Rashid Omar, which had been erected in front of his home in the eastern neighborhood of the town.

In Nablus, the IOF soldiers raided Al-Ein refugee camp, west of the city, as well as the eastern part of Nablus, deploying military vehicles along several streets. They arrested Mahmoud Al-Hirsh from his home in Al-Ein camp.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, a 62-year-old man was shot in the leg with live ammunition during the raid on the camp.

In Ramallah, Israeli forces arrested Qasem Abdel-Salam Barghouthi and Anas Mishaal Barghouthi after storming and searching their homes in the village of Kobar, northwest of the city.

In Bethlehem, Israeli forces raided the town of Al-Khader, south of the city, where they stationed themselves near Al-Balou’ roundabout and opened fire with live ammunition, injuring two children — one in the abdomen and the other in the hand. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The following individuals were arrested from Al-Khader after widespread home raids: As’ad Saeed Subaih, Ibrahim Marzouq Salah and his son Mohammad, Ayyham Ahmad Othman Subaih, Mohammad Abu Zaid, Ibrahim Abu Al-Hawa, Addal Abu Ramdan, Othman Juma Salah, and Ahmad Ali Issa.

Additionally, the Israeli forces raided Beit Fajjar, further south, and arrested 17-year-old Hammam Issa Ali Taqatqa after searching his family’s home.
