DOHA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Jihad Taha, spokesperson for the Hamas Movement, has stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks represent a continuation of his policy of deception, falsely suggesting a willingness to reach an agreement amidst mounting international pressure.
In a press statement, Taha firmly rejected Netanyahu’s conditions and dictates, affirming that Hamas will not abandon its resistance weapons under any circumstances.
He expressed appreciation for the European positions that have condemned Israel’s aggression against the Palestinian people. He further unequivocally rejected any attempts to remove resistance leaders from the Gaza Strip.
Taha reaffirmed that Hamas remains committed to its rights and will continue its resistance until its objectives are achieved and security is established for its people.
During a press conference held on Wednesday evening, Netanyahu announced his conditions for halting the war on Gaza, which included the return of Israeli captives, the expulsion of Hamas leaders, and the complete surrender of weapons.
Netanyahu confirmed that Israel would not stop at these demands and would proceed with implementing the Trump Plan, which includes the displacement of Palestinians — a move that further complicates the situation and obstructs any international efforts to de-escalate.
Prime Minister Netanyahu continues to use diversionary tactics, sending negotiation delegations lacking real authority, in an attempt to appear open to solutions and agreement.
Hamas has repeatedly stated its readiness to begin comprehensive negotiations for the release of Israeli captives in exchange for ending the genocide, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the release of Palestinian detainees.
However, Netanyahu continues to evade responsibility by putting forward new preconditions, which many — including families of Israeli captives and opposition figures — accuse him of doing to serve his personal political interests, particularly his bid to remain in power.
