GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has accused the Israeli occupation army of committing a new horrific massacre in Khan Yunis, south of Gaza, calling on the international community to impose a safe and independent mechanism for distributing aid.
The Israeli army attacked crowds of hungry civilians waiting for aid at the Tahliya rotary in the east of Khan Yunis on Tuesday morning, killing over 50 of them and injuring about 200 others, some in critical condition.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas also said that Israeli forces opened fire at aid seekers near an aid distribution point in Rafah, killing five of them and injuring others, adding that these incidents happen daily at the US-Israeli aid distribution points in Gaza, which it described as “mass killing traps.”
Hamas accused the Israeli army of using aid as a weapon for killing and humiliation, calling starvation a part of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The Movement called on the UN and international organizations to take urgent action to impose a safe and independent aid distribution mechanism in Gaza.
