Iranian missiles hit Israel in retaliation for earlier strikes

NAZARETH (Palestine Foundation Information Center)  The latest salvo of Iranian missiles have caused serious damage at four sites in central and southern Israel, including at the Soroka hospital, while Israeli forces are reported to have attacked Iran’s Arak heavy water nuclear reactor.

The Hebrew media reported, on Thursday morning, significant material damage and casualties in different areas of Israel, especially Tel Aviv, following Iranian retaliatory missile strikes described as the largest since the Israeli war on the Islamic country started last Friday.

The Hebrew media claimed that the stock exchange building in Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv, and the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba were among the buildings damaged in the Iranian counterattacks in the morning.

Iran affirmed that the ballistic missile that hit Beersheba’s Soroka Hospital was in fact targeting an adjacent military intelligence facility.

A few days ago, Israel bombed the Farabi Hospital in Kermanshah City in western Iran, killing and injuring a number of civilians.

Meanwhile, the Hebrew media said rescue and medical teams were dispatched to the bombed sites in Tel Aviv area following reports of Israelis suffering from injuries and others being trapped under the rubble.

Israeli medical authorities claimed that over 40 people suffered injuries in the Iranian strikes on different areas.

Earlier at dawn, The Israeli occupation army said it had targeted the Arak heavy water reactor facility in western Tehran. Other Israeli strikes also targeted military and civilian structures, killing and wounding several people on Wednesday.

Iran’s atomic energy organization has condemned the Israeli attack on Arak as a “renewed violation of the international law.”

Iranian media reported Wednesday that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes across the country had risen to 585, mostly civilians, with at least 1,326 people injured since the Israeli aggression started last week.

Regional tensions have escalated since Friday, when Israel launched airstrikes on multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes.
