WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Hamas official Abdul-Rahman Shadeed stated that the assassination of the young man, Mohammad Ahmad Al-Hour, by a group of Jewish settlers in the town of Surif, northwest of al-Khalil, is a continuation of the Israeli systematic policy of brutally and sadistically killing unarmed Palestinians.
Shadeed mourned the martyr Al-Hour, stressing that the settlers’ organized and barbaric assaults, including the burning of Palestinian agricultural lands, will only strengthen the people’s resolve to remain steadfast and committed to their land and rights.
He held the Israeli government fully responsible for this heinous crime and the escalating attacks on Palestinian towns and villages across the West Bank. These attacks, he explained, are part of a clear settler-colonial plan to displace Palestinians and seize their land.
Shadeed called on the international community and human rights organizations to fulfill their responsibilities, to condemn these crimes, and to hold the occupation accountable for its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people, which constitute blatant breaches of international law.
He also called on Palestinians to confront settler attacks with strength, by all available means, and to escalate all forms of resistance and disrupt the occupation at all points of friction.
A Palestinian citizen was killed and others wounded on Thursday evening after being shot by settlers in the town of Surif, northwest of al-Khalil.
According to the Ministry of Health, Mohammad Ahmad Mahmoud Al-Hour, 48, was martyred and another citizen was seriously wounded by settler gunfire in Surif, al-Khalil.
