Administrative detainee Louai Nasrallah dies in Israeli custody of medical neglect

RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Administrative detainee Louai Faisal Nasrallah, 22, from Jenin, died on Monday morning at Israel’s Soroka Hospital after being transferred from the Negev prison. The circumstances surrounding his martyrdom remain unclear.

Nasrallah had been held without charge since March 26, 2024. His family confirmed he had no prior health issues before his arrest, raising concerns about medical neglect.

Palestinian prisoner organizations said his death is part of a growing pattern of systematic abuse inside Israeli prisons, including torture, medical negligence, and starvation—especially since the start of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The Negev prison, where Nasrallah was detained, has been cited for widespread human rights violations, including the intentional spread of diseases like scabies among inmates.

His martyrdom brings the number of prisoners who have died in Israeli custody since October 2023 to 73—part of a broader pattern described as the bloodiest period in the history of the Palestinian prisoner movement.

Prisoner advocacy groups held the Israeli occupation fully responsible and renewed calls for international legal action to hold Israeli leaders accountable for ongoing war crimes, including crimes against detainees.
