BEIRUT,(Palestine Foundation Information Center) An Israeli airstrike on Saturday afternoon killed a Lebanese man in the town of al-Khiam, southern Lebanon, marking yet another violation of the ceasefire agreement that has officially been in place since late November 2024.
According to the Lebanese News Agency, the Ministry of Health confirmed that “the Israeli enemy’s raid on a house in the town of al-Khiam led to the martyrdom of a man.” Media sources identified the victim as Wissam Musa Abu Abbas, who was killed in the Israeli bombing.
This deadly strike is part of a broader pattern of Israeli aggression against Lebanon. The Israeli army launched its latest campaign on Lebanon on October 8, 2023, escalating into a full-scale war by September 23, 2024. That conflict has so far resulted in over 4,000 martyrs and approximately 17,000 wounded, according to official Lebanese sources.
A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect on November 27, 2024. However, Tel Aviv has reportedly violated the truce more than 3,000 times since then, killing at least 239 people and wounding 551 others.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli army continues to occupy five strategic hills in southern Lebanon seized during the 2024 war, in addition to territories it has held for decades.
