Settlers build road on annexed land in northeast of Jerusalem

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM,(Palestine Foundation Information Center) Extremist Jewish settlers started today, Saturday, to build a road on tracts of annexed Palestinian land in Mukhmas town, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem.

According to local sources, bulldozers belonging to settlers started at an early morning hour to level swaths of land in the town to build a road.

Those settlers live in the illegal colonial outpost of Sde Yonatan, which is adjacent to the Ma’ale Mikhmas settlement, and use the outpost as a base to carry out attacks on Palestinian-owned lands and property.

On Friday, settlers attacked the Bedouin community of Khilat as-Sidra near Mukhmas town, stole money from local residents, and punctured water tanks.

The Israeli occupation authority have gradually encircled Mukhmas town with settlements and outposts after confiscating more than 2,000 dunums of its land, which totals around 13,000 dunums, as part of its efforts to force the local residents to leave their homes and lands to make way for settler projects.
