WEST BANK,(Palestine Foundation Information Center) Cities across the occupied West Bank witnessed widespread demonstrations on Friday in support of Palestinians in Gaza, as anger grew over the ongoing Israeli genocide and starvation war. Marches took place following Friday prayers in Al-Khalil, Nablus, and Ramallah, where protesters condemned the Israeli siege on Gaza and called for the urgent entry of humanitarian aid.
In Nablus, Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces violently dispersed a large demonstration, assaulting participants and making arrests. The crackdown sparked public outrage and condemnation, especially after tear gas grenades were fired and several protestors were beaten.
Hamas senior official Abdul Rahman Shadid denounced the PA’s actions, calling the suppression of peaceful marches “support for the occupation’s aggression against Gaza.” He emphasized that solidarity with Gaza is a national and religious duty and urged the PA to end its repression of West Bank demonstrators.
Shadid called for continued global mobilization through mass protests, sit-ins, and demonstrations in front of Israeli and US embassies until the siege on Gaza is lifted and the famine ends. The group stressed that global silence in the face of the Israeli starvation and extermination war in Gaza is unacceptable.
