GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Dr. Munir al-Bursh, director general of Gaza’s health ministry, has appealed for urgent action to save those who are still alive in the Gaza Strip, whose people are facing manmade mass starvation.
“The health situation in Gaza is catastrophic. The wounded are crying out for treatment. Children are suffering from extreme hunger and mothers are breaking down under the strain of an overwhelmed health system,” Dr. Bursh said in a statement on Sunday.
Dr. Bursh warned that any delay in taking lifesaving action in Gaza would result in new funerals, and that every moment of silence means another child dies without access to medicine or milk.
The health official called on the international community and competent parties to facilitate the urgent medical evacuation of critical cases, especially patients with brain and spinal injuries and those requiring complex surgeries or specialized care unavailable in Gaza.
He also called for taking immediate action to provide Gaza with vital medical and food supplies, including therapeutic milk for children and infants, high-calorie nutritional supplements, concentrated glucose solutions, ready-to-use therapeutic foods, and intravenous antibiotics, in addition to protein sources such as meat, eggs, dairy products and sugar.
