Six citizens, including two children, die in Gaza due to starvation and lack of medical treatment

GAZA,(Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday the martyrdom of six more citizens, including two children, one of them an infant, due to starvation and lack of medical treatment, as the Israeli blockade and genocide enter their 22nd month.

According to the ministry, four people died in the past 24 hours due to malnutrition and the collapse of healthcare services. The Nasser Medical Complex later confirmed the martyrdom of two additional children, including Muhammad Asfour, a one-year-and-four-month-old infant, who died from starvation-related complications.

A medical source at the hospital confirmed that the child’s death was the result of severe shortages in food and medicine, and the inability of hospitals to provide basic care.

Videos shared by activists on social media showed the infant lying weak and emaciated on a hospital bed, underscoring the depth of Gaza’s humanitarian crisis. The Nasser Complex also reported the death of a two-year-old girl in the Al-Mawasi area, also from severe malnutrition and a lack of medical attention.

These latest deaths raise the total number of victims of Israeli-induced famine to 199, including 98 children. The toll continues to grow, particularly among infants, as the Israeli siege prevents food, medicine, and humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza’s population.

The humanitarian disaster continues to worsen, with famine deepening alongside the persistent Israeli war on the enclave. Since March 2, 2025, the occupation forces have shut down all crossings into Gaza, barring most food and medical convoys from entering. As a result, severe famine has engulfed the Strip.

United Nations agencies and Palestinian organizations have repeatedly warned that the continuation of this siege and the denial of aid are setting the stage for mass deaths, especially among children. The Strip’s health system has completely collapsed, and families face an impossible struggle for survival under conditions that international observers describe as among the worst humanitarian catastrophes in modern history.
