PARIS, (Palestine Foundation Information Center ) French President Emmanuel Macron declared that “starving an entire population in the Gaza Strip is a crime that must stop at once.”
In remarks made public on Monday, Macron said he had discussed the tragic situation in Gaza with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
“We are working closely with Qatar to ensure the success of mediation efforts,” he added, “and to prepare for the Two-State Solution conference in New York on 22 September.”
Since 2 March, Israeli forces have blocked Gaza’s border crossings, preventing the entry of food, humanitarian aid, medical supplies, goods, and fuel, resulting in a serious humanitarian decline.
The Israeli occupation renewed its aggressive campaign against Gaza on 18 March 2025, launching airstrikes across the Strip and breaking a nearly 60-day ceasefire agreement mediated by the US, Egypt, and Qatar.
Israel refused to enter the second phase of the ceasefire deal, which had a planned 42-day extension, followed by a third phase of the same duration to transition into a permanent ceasefire.
Since the renewed assault began, at least 62,744 Palestinians have been killed, with 158,259 wounded, approximately 72% of them women and children, according to the Ministry of Health.
