AL-KHALIL, (The Palestinian Information Center) A group of Jewish settlers on Monday evening set ablaze large areas of agricultural land in the town of Sa’ir, located northeast of al-Khalil in the occupied West Bank.
According to local resident Ziyad Al-Shallaldeh, dozens of settlers from the “Asfar” settlement stormed Wadi Sa’ir and torched dozens of dunums planted with grapevines, almond trees, and olive trees. The lands belong to the Shallaldeh and Al-Tarwa families, among others.
Residents of Sa’ir said that the ongoing assaults by settlers and occupation forces are part of an ongoing effort to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands to make way for settlement expansion. They noted that similar attacks are often carried out by settlers from “Asfar” and “Kedumim,” including the theft of dozens of sheep.
Parallel to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem. These assaults have resulted in the killing of at least 1,016 Palestinians, the injury of around 7,000 others, and the arrest of over 18,500 individuals, according to Palestinian sources.
