WEST BANK, (The Palestinian Information Center) The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped a number of Palestinian citizens and injured others during raids in the West Bank last night and on Tuesday morning, while settler attacks were reported in some areas.
According to local sources, the IOF broke into and ransacked the house of al-Khalil City mayor Tayseer Abu Sneina before kidnaping him.
The IOF also kidnaped a citizen from his home during a raid in Yatta City, south of al-Khalil.
Similar IOF raids were reported in the towns of Halhul and Idhna, west of al-Khalil, and detained and interrogated dozens of local residents.
Meanwhile, the IOF intensified its military measures in al-Khalil province, setting up several makeshift checkpoints and closing roads at the entrances of towns, villages and refugee camps.
In Qalqilya, two young men were taken prisoner during an IOF raid in Kafr Thuluth village.
In Ramallah, the IOF raided homes and kidnaped two young men in the villages of al-Lubban al-Gharbi and al-Mughayyir.
The IOF also kidnaped two other young citizens during raids in al-Yamun town, west of Jenin, and al-Deheisha refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.
In Tulkarem, Israeli soldiers rampaged through dozens of homes and stores in Bal’ah town and interrogated several citizens before kidnaping one of them.
The IOF also bulldozed parts of the town’s streets, causing damage to infrastructure.
In Nablus, a university student was reportedly kidnaped by the IOF from his home in Asira ash-Shamaliya town.
In Tubas, five citizens from the same family suffered bullet injuries during an IOF raid in Tamun town.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli soldiers opened fire at a car carrying civilians from the same family, injuring a number of them, including children.
The Red Crescent, for its part, said that one of the wounded passengers had a bullet injury in his head, adding that the IOF also opened fire at its ambulance crew in the area.
In other West Bank areas, extremist settler groups launched attacks on Palestinian citizens and property.
Local sources reported that a horde of settlers set fire to swaths of agricultural land and attacked homes in the Wadi Sa’ir area of al-Khalil.
Settlers also assaulted Palestinian farmers in the Wardan area of Beit Ummar town, north of al-Khalil, and prevented them from reaching their lands.
In another incident, a settler driving at high speed ran over a Palestinian girl child on and injured her on a road leading to Samu town, south of al-Khalil.
Another horde of extremist settlers attacked at dawn Palestinian citizens guarding their swaths of cultivated land in al-Tal area of Sinjil town, north of Ramallah.
