OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestinian Information Center) The Hamas Movement condemned US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for performing Talmudic rituals at the al-Buraq Wall in occupied Jerusalem, calling it a flagrant assault on the sanctity of the al-Aqsa Mosque and a blatant violation of the city’s historical and legal status.
In a statement issued Sunday evening, Hamas described the act as an outrageous provocation to Arabs and Muslims worldwide, and a blatant breach of international laws and norms.
The Movement said the move once again proves the current US administration’s full alignment and partnership in Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people, their land, and holy sites.
Hamas reiterated that the al-Buraq Wall is an inseparable part of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and will remain exclusively Islamic. It stressed that no Israeli scheme, regardless of US support, can alter the Wall’s historic and religious identity.
The Movement emphasized that “the sacred stones of al-Aqsa will reject all invaders, and that the resilience of Palestinians in Jerusalem will shatter the illusions of extremist settlers and leaders seeking to impose control over the holy site”.
