GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, stated on Friday that “half of the enemy’s living captives are currently located in areas that the Israeli army has recently ordered to evacuate.”
“We have decided not to move these captives from those areas and to keep them under strict security procedures, although these measures pose serious risks to their lives,” Abu Obeida said.
“If the enemy is truly concerned about the lives of its captives, it must immediately negotiate for their evacuation or release. A warning has been issued.”
Abu Obeida further held the Netanyahu government fully responsible for the fate of the captives, stating, “Had the government truly cared about them, it would have abided by the agreement it signed.”
Since 7 October 2023, and with U.S. backing, the Israeli military has been committing acts of genocide in Gaza, resulting in more than 165,000 Palestinians killed or wounded — the majority of them women and children — along with over 14,000 still missing.
