He warned that Israel continues to make “strategic miscalculations” that are hastening its collapse.
In a statement published on his Telegram channel, Abu Obeida said the Israeli assault on Iranian leaders stems directly from Iran’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate resistance.
“This aggression is a response to Iran’s principled stand with Palestine and its honorable support for the resistance,” he said.
He expressed condolences over the Iranian “leaders and martyrs” assassinated in the attack and emphasized that the strikes would not succeed in weakening the resistance across the region.
“The Israeli enemy is deluded if it thinks these cowardly attacks can suppress the resistance or bring stability to its fragile entity,” Abu Obeida said. “On the contrary, it is committing repeated strategic errors that will only hasten its inevitable demise—Allah willing,” he said.
The Israeli army launched the so-called “The Rising Lion” operation in the early hours of Friday. Dozens of warplanes struck central Tehran in one of the most audacious military operations in recent memory, assassinating senior Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander Hossein Salami and other Iranian leaders.
According to Iranian media, the strikes also killed Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri, nuclear scientists Mehdi Tahranji and Faridun Abbasi, and critically injured Ali Shamkhani, a top advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The escalation has sparked a wave of regional and international concern over the risk of broader conflict, with analysts warning that Israel’s strike may trigger a chain reaction across an already unstable region.
