Israeli bombing violates Gaza ceasefire

GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)Two Palestinians were killed and at least seven others were pulled from under the rubble from earlier strikes on Friday, as Israeli air and artillery attacks continued despite the ceasefire agreement officially going into effect in the Gaza Strip.

According to the PIC correspondent, a municipal worker in Gaza City was killed after being shot by Israeli forces near the Sheikh Radwan water reservoir in northern Gaza.

Another young man, Mahmoud Ahmad Zaarab, was killed by Israeli gunfire in the Al-Iqlimi area of al-Mawasi, Khan Yunis. A young girl also died of injuries sustained in an earlier attack in the Asdaa area, northwest of Khan Yunis.

Meanwhile, civil defense crews and civilians retrieved the bodies of at least seven more martyrs from the rubble in Gaza City, victims of prior Israeli air raids.

The Israeli forces opened fire this morning in the Al-Shakoush area northwest of Rafah and northeast of Khan Yunis, using smoke grenades to mask movements.

Israeli warplanes also launched multiple strikes this morning on Al-Shati refugee camp and Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City. Further airstrikes hit Khan Yunis, and Israeli artillery shelled northwest of Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Heavy gunfire and flares lit up the sky at dawn near the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza.

The PIC correspondent reported that Israeli forces began withdrawing from multiple areas they had occupied, retreating toward agreed-upon lines amid continued artillery fire and smoke cover.

According to Israel’s Walla news outlet, Israeli forces began withdrawing from Gaza City and Al-Shati camp, including combat units from the Golani Brigade and the regular 7th Armored Brigade.

In a press statement, Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, urged residents not to return to areas recently vacated by Israeli forces, especially near Gaza’s borders, until official confirmation of a complete withdrawal is announced by relevant authorities.

After several delays, the Israeli government officially ratified the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the United States.

According to Israeli media, the ceasefire agreement was confirmed after four postponements and in the presence of Trump administration envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff.
