Al-Aqsa Researcher Banned for Six Months by Israeli Forces

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli occupation police issued an order on Monday to ban Jerusalem-based researcher and educational supervisor Ahmad Al-Safadi from entering the Aqsa Mosque for six months, after officially delivering the decision.

According to local sources, the order was issued without any clear justification and is part of the ongoing policy of targeting prominent Palestinian figures in Jerusalem, including researchers and activists, by imposing arbitrary restrictions on their access to Al-Aqsa and their ability to perform religious rituals there.

In recent weeks, there has been a notable escalation in exclusion orders targeting Jerusalemites, seen as part of efforts to empty the Aqsa Mosque of its worshippers and guardians in preparation for Israeli settlement agendas.

Al-Safadi is a well-known Palestinian political analyst and researcher focused on Occupied Jerusalem affairs and the Israeli attempts to alter the Palestinian curriculum and erase cultural identity. He also works as an educational supervisor.

Simultaneously, the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan reported that Israeli intelligence summoned 35 Jerusalemites of various ages, including elders, youth, and women, to the Qishleh police station in the Old City, where they were handed one-week banning orders from Aqsa, subject to renewal.

The center noted that the individuals were instructed to return for further interrogation upon the expiration of their bans. Written orders cited “tangible concerns over public order and security” as justification.

Observers in Occupied Jerusalem say this intensified campaign of expulsions ahead of Ramadan is a preemptive measure aimed at deterring the presence of Palestinian worshippers at the Mosque. Those targeted include Aqsa activists, Mosque guards, and well-known religious figures committed to spiritual presence at the site.
