GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center ) Dr. Munir al-Bursh, director-general of Gaza’s health ministry, has warned that the famine in Gaza Governorate has reached “Phase 5,” amid concerns that it will spread to the central and southern areas of the coastal enclave.
“The number of famine victims in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 289, including 115 children,” Dr. al-Bursh told Al Jazeera satellite channel on Sunday.
The health official pointed out that around one million people in Gaza are currently in Phase 3 and Phase 4 famine conditions, while 41,000 children are critically malnourished.
