al-Khalil Settler Raid Leaves Family Wounded, Livestock Taken

AL-KHALIL, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), An 80 year old Palestinian woman and two of her sons suffered bruises on Friday after armed Jewish settlers attacked their home and assaulted them, before stealing 30 sheep east of al-Khalil.

Farid Yarkan, head of the village council of Birin hamlet, said that a group of armed settlers stormed the home of citizen Nour Idris in Wadi al A’our Valley, in Birin to the east of al-Khalil.

“They broke doors and windows in an attempt to force their way in. The family resisted, leading to injuries to the elderly Safiya Idris, 80, and her sons Nour and Azmi, who suffered bruises, suffocation, and burns after being assaulted and sprayed with pepper gas. They were later transferred to hospital.”

He added that the settlers stole around 30 sheep belonging to the family during the attack.

Settler assaults against citizens and their property in the West Bank have escalated in recent weeks.
