GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas Movement, handed over 24 captives, including 13 Israelis, on Friday evening.
The move came as part of the first batch of the prisoner swap deal between Palestinian resistance and Israeli occupation.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari confirmed that a total of 24 captives held in Gaza had been released, including 13 Israeli citizens, some of whom are dual citizens, in addition to 10 Thai citizens and a Filipino citizen.
39 Palestinian female and child detainees were also released from Israeli prisons.
According to Israeli media sources, the Israeli captives were transferred to the Red Cross, then crossed over into Egyptian territory to be later moved to Israel in helicopters.
This came after a temporary ceasefire formally began earlier on Friday.
