GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza warned Saturday that the Israeli siege continues to tighten around the Strip, with only 73 aid trucks entering on Friday, far below the daily needs of the population, and most of those were looted amid a breakdown in security that Palestinian officials blame on a deliberate Israeli policy of “engineering chaos and starvation.”
In a press statement, the GMO said the humanitarian situation has reached catastrophic levels due to the war of genocide waged by Israel, backed by the United States.
It emphasized that Gaza requires no less than 600 trucks of food, fuel, and relief supplies daily to meet the basic needs of its devastated population, especially in the health and food sectors.
The statement condemned what it called the “systematic crime of starvation” and held Israel and its international partners fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian catastrophe. It demanded the immediate and unconditional opening of all crossings and the delivery of adequate supplies of baby formula and food.
Since March 2, 2025, Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, sealing all crossings and halting the entry of goods and aid, which has triggered what humanitarian organizations describe as an unprecedented famine.
The GMO reported that, since October 7, 2023, more than 208,000 Palestinians have been martyred or wounded in Gaza, most of them women and children. Over 10,000 remain missing, and more than two million people have been displaced from their homes as the siege and attacks continue with no end in sight.
