Amnesty calls for probe into Israel bombing of Lebanese association, dubbing it war crime

BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Amnesty International said the Israeli occupation army’s targeting of the branches of the Al-Qard Al-Hassan association, which is affiliated with Hezbollah, likely “violates international humanitarian law, and must be investigated as a war crime.”

According to the NGO, the Al-Qard Al-Hassan is a non-profit financial association that has more than 30 branches across Lebanon, constituting an economic lifeline for hundreds of thousands of Lebanese civilians.

The organization stressed that, “Having an association with Hezbollah is not sufficient to classify a civilian building or the civilians inside it as military objectives.”

“Under international humanitarian law, attacks against civilians and civilian objects are prohibited. An international investigation into the attacks on Qard al-Hassan must be initiated urgently,” it added.
