Amnesty: Genocide in Gaza Continues Despite Ceasefire

Amnesty International confirmed Thursday that the Gaza genocide “has not stopped at all,” stressing that the international community must not be misled by the superficial appearance of a ceasefire.

The rights group stated that Palestinians in Gaza continue to live under conditions “designed to physically destroy them,” citing Israel’s ongoing “brutal” policies, including restrictions on humanitarian aid and vital services.

According to Amnesty, at least 374 Palestinians, including 136 children, have been killed since the ceasefire began, due to continued Israeli attacks across various parts of the Gaza Strip.

Amnesty reminded the world that since the October 7, 2023 attack, Israel, backed by the United States and European countries, has committed acts of genocide, including mass killings, starvation, widespread destruction, displacement, and arrests, despite repeated international calls and orders by the International Court of Justice to halt such crimes.

Amnesty added that the toll of the genocide has now exceeded 239,000 Palestinians, either killed or wounded, most of them women and children, with more than 11,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed many lives, particularly children. Large parts of the Gaza Strip have been entirely wiped out.
