GAZA, (The Palestinian Information Center) Palestinian child Alaa Ahmad al-Arja, aged five, passed away on Monday evening at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip, due to malnutrition and lack of medical treatment, amid the ongoing Israeli-imposed blockade on the region.
Medical sources reported that Alaa was unable to access the necessary medical and nutritional care, leading to a rapid deterioration in her health. Her death marks yet another heartbreaking humanitarian case, reflecting the immense suffering endured by children in Gaza under the continuing siege.
Over the past two days, 13 children have died at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, including 10 fetuses who lost their lives in their mothers’ wombs due to miscarriage, and 3 premature infants who died in incubators.
The hospital witnesses daily cases of miscarriage and deaths among premature babies, driven by malnutrition and the absence of basic medical care, in a catastrophic health situation that worsens with the ongoing Israeli aggression and blockade.
Gaza, home to more than two million people, has been facing an escalating humanitarian crisis since the Israeli war of genocide was launched on October 7, 2023, with a sharp deterioration in living conditions and healthcare services, particularly in the northern areas of the Strip.
