DOHA,(The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)Ismail Radwan, a senior official in the Hamas Movement, has called on the US administration and international mediators to actively intervene and pressure the Israeli occupation to fulfill its commitments under the Gaza agreement. He warned against ongoing attempts by Israel to evade its obligations.
In media remarks, Radwan emphasized Hamas’s commitment to making the agreement successful but noted that Israel has failed to uphold the humanitarian aspects of the deal. He stated that the aid entering Gaza “is insignificant compared to the scale of the catastrophe.”
He pointed out that over 10,000 people remain missing under the rubble of destroyed buildings, while Gaza’s civil defense teams lack the equipment necessary to retrieve them.
Radwan accused Israel of obstructing recovery efforts, despite its responsibility for the deaths of its captives at the start of the war. “Today, Israel blames us, while it blocks the entry of equipment required to save those still trapped,” he told Al Jazeera.
He affirmed that Israel is the party stalling progress in the negotiations, a fact well known to Washington, and urged the US to assume its responsibilities and apply serious pressure on Tel Aviv.
This comes amid the ongoing ceasefire agreement reached in Sharm El Sheikh on October 9, brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye, with US participation, after two years of continuous aggression on Gaza.
Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces have continued launching airstrikes and artillery bombardments, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries.
Israel has been committing acts of genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, with full support from the United States, while ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the assault.
These crimes have led to over 238,000 killed and wounded, the majority being women and children, along with more than 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has claimed many lives, including children, on top of the total destruction of the Strip’s infrastructure.
