Badran: Our Response to Trump’s Plan Reflects a Unified Palestinian National Stance

DOHA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)Husam Badran, head of the National Relations Office of the Hamas Movement and member of its political bureau, said that his Movement dealt with US President Donald Trump’s plan from a comprehensive Palestinian national standpoint, emphasizing the necessity of a united Palestinian stance to face all challenges.

In a televised speech on Thursday, Badran said, “Since Trump’s plan was announced, we have been in contact with factions and national figures, explaining the dangers and stressing the need for joint national action to reach a unified Palestinian position. We held meetings, exchanged messages, and maintained ongoing communication with factions, leaders, and independents over the past days to unify the national response.”

Badran emphasized that Hamas’s final response was the result of these broad consultations. The same approach continued during the negotiations in Sharm El-Sheikh, where all communications and meetings with the broader Palestinian national community were maintained, aiming to ensure a unified position that reflects the national interest and serves the full rights of the Palestinian people.

He affirmed the Movement’s commitment to an inclusive national dialogue in Cairo to discuss all details regarding the agreement and future plans, to ensure consensus on upcoming steps and phases.

He also noted that any Palestinian decision must reflect a united stance and include all factions, national figures, and the Palestinian people.

Badran described October 7, 2023, as a pivotal day in the conflict with the occupation, stating that the Aqsa Flood operation demonstrated to the world that the Palestinian people deserve to live freely and have the right to self-determination and to establish their state on their occupied land.

He continued, “What has been achieved today is the result of the resilience of our people in Gaza and the sacrifices of men, women, children, and the elderly. Credit also goes to the resistance fighters, both the fallen and the living, who displayed a rare example of steadfastness in defending land, identity, and cause.”

He stressed that whenever the Palestinian stance is unified, it becomes stronger and more capable of achieving national aspirations, as consensus forms a solid foundation for confronting the occupation and attaining the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people on their land and in their future state.

Badran concluded, “What we see today, and what can be achieved in the future, is due to the steadfastness of our people in Gaza, the sacrifices of the resistance fighters, and the efforts of all Palestinians … keeping hope alive as we shape our future with our own hands and work toward a free and just Palestinian state on all of our occupied land.”
