GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has announced that it will hand over the body of an Israeli captive tonight as part of the first phase of a prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
“We will deliver the body of an Israeli captive, which was recovered yesterday in Gaza, at 8:00 p.m. today, local time,” al-Qassam Brigades said in a brief statement.
No further details were provided regarding the captive’s identity or the mechanism and location of the handover.
On Sunday, the Brigades said it found the body of an Israeli captive during its ongoing search operations, confirming “it would be returned if field conditions allowed.”
The Brigades also warned that any Israeli escalation would hinder search and excavation efforts, potentially delaying the recovery and return of Israeli corpses.
