RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Asra Media Office reported on Friday that female detainees in Damon Prison continue to endure harsh detention conditions that violate their dignity and fundamental rights amid ongoing infringements on their privacy, particularly during nighttime hours, when male guards move through the prison sections.
The Office noted that a constant state of fear forces the detainees to take additional precautions, such as sleeping in full modest dress in anticipation of potential raids, due to the lack of privacy in their rooms and the poor detention conditions that deepen their sense of insecurity.
The detainees have also reported complaints regarding inadequate food, both in quality and quantity, especially given the presence of ill prisoners.
The Asra Media Office stressed the urgent need for intervention by human rights and humanitarian organizations, holding the prison administration fully responsible for the safety and lives of the detainees.
