GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center)Dozens of Palestinians were killed and injured in an Israeli attack that struck the vicinity of al-Awda school sheltering displaced families in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis on Tuesday evening.
Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) said that at least 29 Palestinians were killed in the attack, mostly women and children.
“The latest massacre comes after the occupation’s army attacked six other displacement camps in the central areas [of Gaza], raising the total death toll to at least 60 in the past few hours,” the GMO said in a statement.
The attack also comes while Gaza’s crumbling healthcare sector continues to collapse as Israeli forces have forced several hospitals to suspend services, it added.
For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated in a brief statement that the occupation forces targeted a school housing displaced civilians in the Abasan town, east of Khan Yunis.
Dozens of victims were reported in the attack, the statement reads.
The Red Crescent noted that its ambulance crews are still working to evacuate the casualties, saying that the Israeli attack is the second of its kind within a few hours.
Earlier, the GMO said that the Israeli occupation committed a heinous massacre against displaced citizens by targeting a school sheltering displaced people in Al-Nusairat.
At least 17 Palestinians were killed in the attack, including 14 children and a woman.
All of the reported victims belong to the same family.
