GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center) Member of Hamas Political Bureau, Hossam Badran, confirmed that the Movement’s priority is ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza, bringing in aid, returning the displaced to northern Gaza, and working out a clear reconstruction plan that is not limited to the release of prisoners as promoted by Israel.
Badran said in a press statement, “We are using our legitimate right to resist the occupation and we have no concerns over Netanyahu’s statements on targeting Al-Sinwar,” stressing that the US administration is a primary reason for obstructing any agreement.
“Washington is an essential political and military partner in supporting the occupation,” “we will confront the occupation until we achieve complete independence,” he added.
Badran stressed that Netanyahu does not want to reach an agreement and is deceiving his people and the families of the prisoners, to cover up his political and security failure, noting that “the issue is not related to the prisoners and their numbers. The problem lies in Israel’s refusal to present any guarantees for the mediators.”
He explained that the negotiating delegation has strong cards, “The steadfastness of our people and our resistance on the ground, in addition to the continued international pressure on Netanyahu and his government.”
The Hamas official said, “We are practicing resistance, politics, and negotiations to achieve a clear and specific goal that meets the needs and requirements of our people in general and in Gaza in particular.”
